Description
I wanted to get a Voles’ eye view of an incoming Tawny Owl. It took a number of days of experimenting before I was successful. This was partly to do with the fact that the Owl could come from any direction while the camera was fastened onto the tripod and aimed at a fixed angle. Even when it flew in from the predicted angle, catching it within the full frame was very complex. Lastly, the Owl appeared very infrequently so I could only get one shot from each approach, which may be few hours apart. Staying awake in the woodland in the dead of night was not easy but as with most wildlife related endeavours, perseverance usually pays off.
